CUSTOM PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
CUSTOM PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
Stainless-steel pressure vessels manufactured according to approved drawings and specifications.
MATERIAL TRACEABILITY
MATERIAL TRACEABILITY
CONTROLLED MATERIALS FOR PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
Material selection and traceability are important elements of pressure-equipment manufacturing.
Depending on the project requirements, material control can include:
- Material grade verification
- Heat / batch identification
- Material Test Certificates
- EN 10204 documentation
- PMI verification where required
- Material traceability throughout manufacturing
Common stainless-steel materials may include:
SS 304 / 304L
SS 316 / 316L
Other materials can be considered according to the approved equipment design and project specification.
PED WELDING
CONTROLLED WELDING FOR PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
PED WELDING
CONTROLLED WELDING FOR PRESSURE EQUIPMENT
Welding is critical manufacturing activity for pressure equipment.
Our fabrication scope can include:
- Shell welding
- Circumferential welding
- Longitudinal welding
- Dished-end welding
- Nozzle welding
- Manway welding
- Support welding
- Internal component welding
- Pipe connection welding
Depending on the project, welding documentation can include:
- WPS
- PQR / WPQR
- Welder qualification records
- Welding consumable documentation
- Weld maps
- Weld inspection records
All applicable welding requirements are established according to the specific project and conformity requirements.
INSPECTION & TESTING
VERIFYING PRESSURE EQUIPMENT BEFORE RELEASE
INSPECTION & TESTING
Pressure equipment requires controlled inspection throughout manufacturing.
Depending on the approved inspection plan, activities may include:
DIMENSIONAL INSPECTION
Verification of vessel dimensions, nozzle locations, connections and critical tolerances.
VISUAL INSPECTION
Inspection of fabrication, welds, surfaces and components.
PMI
Positive Material Identification where required.
NDT
Applicable non-destructive examination such as UT, RT or other specified methods.
PRESSURE TESTING
Applicable hydrostatic or other approved pressure-testing procedures.
FINAL INSPECTION
Final verification before equipment release.
PED CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT
PED CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT
PED conformity assessment is dependent on the equipment's classification and applicable requirements.
Factors that may influence the conformity-assessment route include:
- Equipment type
- Maximum allowable pressure
- Volume
- Nominal size
- Fluid group
- Equipment category
- Applicable conformity-assessment module
For each project, the applicable requirements should be established before manufacturing and incorporated into the project quality and technical documentation.
CE marking and PED conformity are applied according to the applicable regulatory and conformity-assessment requirements for the specific equipment
A COMPLETE QUALITY & MANUFACTURING RECORD
A COMPLETE QUALITY & MANUFACTURING RECORD
For applicable PED projects, documentation can be structured according to the agreed project requirements.
The documentation package may include:
- Material certificates
- EN 10204 3.1 certificates
- Material traceability records
- WPS / WPQR
- Welder qualification records
- Weld maps
- Dimensional inspection reports
- PMI reports
- NDT reports
- Pressure-test reports
- Surface inspection records
- Final inspection reports
- Certificate of Conformity, where applicable
- Technical documentation as required
Documentation is project-specific and is prepared according to the applicable requirements.
DESIGN & MANUFACTURING DOCUMENTATION
WORKING FROM APPROVED ENGINEERING INFORMATION
Mapsons supports PED-related manufacturing using customer-provided engineering documentation such as:
2D DRAWINGS
PDF • DWG • DXF
3D MODELS
STEP • STP • IGES • SLDPRT
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT DRAWINGS
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
INSPECTION & TEST PLANS
Where design responsibility remains with the customer or appointed engineering organization, manufacturing is carried out against the approved design documentation.CE marking and PED conformity are applied according to the applicable regulatory and conformity-assessment requirements for the specific equipment.
